Made with your own homemade fresh lokshyna (egg noodles) and tart apples, similar to a sweet Jewish kugel, this old-time country dessert topped with browned buttered breadcrumbs and crunchy walnuts makes a perfect cap to any late summer meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 2 cups

Method

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet until fragrant and bubbly. Add the breadcrumbs and stir constantly until the crumbs are coated and toasted, about 3 to 4 minutes. Set aside.

Preheat the oven to 350°F</
