Medivnychky are a distinguished type of honey cookie from days gone by when sugar was not yet known. Bee culture was extensive in Ukraine (and remains so today) and as a result honey played a major role in the preparation of cakes, cookies, and other pastries that have since become traditional treats at Christmastime and New Year’s.
This is a very old recipe and yet it is still popular today. It contains no milk, eggs, or fat and the result are cookies much like ginger snaps.
