These distinctively Ukrainian chocolate cheese-covered confections are usually stuffed with jam or nuts and are sold in the dairy departments of most Ukrainian grocery shops. This is my adapted version featuring dried fruit and nuts.


  • 1 cup 4% milk-fat cottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoo


In a food processor or blender, combine the cheese, honey, and heavy cream until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a small bowl and stir in the lemon and orange zest. Cover the bowl and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
