  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup seeded raisins
  • 1 cup almonds, cut in halves
  • A pinch of salt


Beat the eggs well with the sugar. Sift one cup of the flour with the baking powder and beat until light and fine grained, then stir in lightly the raisins and nuts having first sprinkled them with the rest of the flour. Bake in thin sheets in two shallow square pans, and cut in oblong pieces before quite cold. Frost if desired with Butter Frosting No. 1 and sprinkle with walnuts chopped fine.
