Ingredients

  • 2 pints of flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup currants
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Method

Mix dry ingredients; wash and dry currants, dredge with flour. Add egg to milk and combine the mixtures. Bake in a deep pan in a hot oven ½ hour.
