Ingredients

  • 1 cup lukewarm milk
  • ½ ounce compressed yeast
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • cups of flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup strained Hubbard Squash
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Method

Crumble yeast with sugar in a little of the lukewarm milk, add the rest of the milk, the salt, butter and squash or sweet potato. Then add the flour, knead until smooth, add more flour if necessary. Let rise in a warm place. Roll and shape into biscuits and let rise again and bake in a moderate oven about ½ hour, or until thoroughly done.
