  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup stoned raisins chopped fine, or currants
  • teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons citron, chopped fine
  • cup milk
  • teaspoon cinnamon


Mix five first ingredients same as baking powder biscuits. Roll to one-fourth inch thickness, brush over with melted butter and sprinkle with the raisins, citron, sugar and cinnamon. Roll like a jelly roll. Cut in pieces three-fourths inch thick. Place in buttered tins endwise and bake ten minutes in a hot oven. Dried currants may be used in place of raisins.
