  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon soda, dissolved in a little water
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 1 cup flour (scant)
  • ½ teaspoon salt


Beat egg in pitcher or sauce pan; add milk, if not thick enough, add a little melted butter; add flour, salt and soda. Mix well and bake on a hot griddle as Plain Griddle Cakes.
