Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 or 2 eggs

Method

Mix the dry ingredients. Beat egg well, add salt and the milk, and combine the two mixtures. A tablespoon of molasses may be added to the batter. Cook as other Griddle Cakes. One teaspoon soda and two cups sour milk may be used in place of the baking powder and sweet milk.
