  • 1 can Bismark or pickled herring
  • Lemon juice
  • Lemon slices
  • A little pepper
  • Parsley
  • Melted butter


Remove herring from can, and arrange on a platter; sprinkle with pepper, brush over with lemon juice and melted butter and pour over the liquor left in the pan. Place in a moderate oven, heat thoroughly and garnish with parsley and lemon slices.
