  • 1 qt. tomatoes
  • 3 pts. milk
  • 2 tablespoons cracker crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • speck pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon soda


Heat the tomatoes and milk in separate dishes. Add to the tomatoes the salt, pepper, butter and bread crumbs. When the tomatoes are thoroughly cooked add the soda and milk at once and remove from the stove.
