Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiling water, milk or fish stock
  • teaspoon pepper
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method

Melt 4 tablespoons butter into a saucepan. Remove from the fire and mix with flour. Add cup of the boiling liquid, then the rest; the remainder of the butter in small pieces, and the salt and pepper. Boil 5 minutes and serve hot.
