  • 1 qt. cabbage, chopped
  • 1 qt. boiling water
  • 1 onion


Heat the fat, add the onion, brown nicely, then add the cabbage; cover and let steam for 10 minutes, then pour over the boiling water; salt and pepper, and let boil until tender from ½ to 2 hours. Sprinkle flour over to thicken, let boil a little longer and serve hot.
