Method

No. 1. Remove husks and silky threads, cover with boiling water and cook from 8 to 20 minutes according to number of cobs in the kettle. Remove from water and serve hot with fresh butter, salt and pepper.

No. 2. Pare off the outer leaves, but leave on enough to cover the corn. Fold remaining leaves down, remove silky threads, then turn back into place and tie at the tips to cover the corn. Cook in boiling water 10 to 20 minutes. Take out of water, remove the leaves and serve hot with fresh butter, salt and pepper.

No. 3. Grate the corn from the cobs, cook 5 to 10 minutes in their own juice and with butter, salt and pepper-add a little milk if necessary.

No. 4. Cut the cooked corn from the cobs and serve heated with butter, salt and pepper.
