Scrub 6 potatoes well and let stand in cold water with a little salt ½ hour. Place in stew pan, pour boiling water over them to cover, about 1 qt, add 1 tablespoon salt and boil until fork will easily pierce them. Drain, shake gently over the fire to dry. Serve hot.
