  • 6 medium sized potatoes
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water


Wash and pare potatoes. Cook 10 minutes in boiling, salted water. Drain, cut in halves lengthwise, and put in a buttered Pan. Make a syrup by boiling 3 minutes the sugar and water; add butter. Brush potatoes with syrup and bake 15 minutes, basting twice with remaining syrup.
