Beat egg well, add salt and water and stir this into the flour until you have a smooth batter.

Drop by teaspoonfuls or tablespoonfuls into boiling, salted water and let cook 15 minutes. Drain in colander. Pour hot fat over them and serve, or pour cold water over them in the colander that they shall not stick together, reheat in any desired meat or other sauce, or fat; garnish with fried
