  • teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon

Method

Mix the salt, mustard, sugar and flour. Add the egg slightly beaten, the butter and mill or water. Dilute the vinegar if strong, and add it very slowly.

Cook in a double boiler until it thickens slightly. Strain and cool or bottle. This dressing may be used with cabbage, lettuce or cold meat.
