  • 6 medium sized sardines
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • ½ wine glass White wine
  • 1 teaspoon anchovy paste
  • Pinch of white pepper


Cook butter, anchovy paste and wine together, in a chafing dish, add the sardines, heat and place each sardine on buttered toast size of same. Serve very hot.
