  • 1 cup milk

Cut bread in ½ inch slices. Beat the egg slightly, add milk and sugar. Dip bread in this mixture, moistening both sides.

Heat the butter in a spider and fry bread, on both sides, a nice golden brown. Serve hot, with a little jelly spread on each piece.
