Ingredients

  • 1 cup matzos meal
  • 1 cup boiling water, milk, soup stock or wine

Method

Scald the matzos meal with the hot water or other liquids, stir well and add the other ingredients, separating the eggs and adding the beaten whites last. Drop by tablespoonfuls in deep, hot goose or other fat and fry slowly until browned on both sides.

Serve hot, sprinkled with powdered sugar, wine sauce or stewed fruits.
