Ingredients

  • ½ cups stale bread crumbs
  • 1 pint milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla, or
  • ¼ teaspoon spice

Method

Soak bread crumbs in milk. Add sugar, butter and eggs, slightly beaten, salt, butter and flavoring. Put into a buttered pudding dish and set dish in a pan of hot water. Bake in a slow oven about ½ hour. Try with knife. If the knife comes out clean the pudding is done.
