Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup suet, chopped finely
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • ½ cup currants
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices

Method

Mix dry ingredients together and add suet, mixing thoroughly. Lastly add the liquid. Put in moulds and steam 3 hours. Serve with Vanilla Sauce.
