Ingredients

  • 1 pt. milk, scalded
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon flavoring
  • 1 egg or 2 yolks

Method

Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt; add egg slightly beaten. Add scalded milk, stirring constantly. Cook in double boiler until it thickens slightly. Strain, cool and flavor,
