Beat eggs till very light, add syrup and cook until it thickens, stirring constantly. Place the dish in a pan of ice and stir until creamy; add vanilla and whipped cream. Fill mould and pack in ice and salt, 4 parts of ice to 1 of salt. Let stand 4 hours.
