Ingredients: 3 lbs. raisins, seeded; 2 lbs. currants; 1½ lb, beef suet, chopped; 6 lbs. apples, chopped; 3 lbs. meat, chopped; 1 nutmeg, grated; ½ oz. cloves; 1 qt. boiled cider; 3 lbs. brown sugar; ½ each of lemon and orange peel; 1 lb. citron, chopped fine; 1 oz. cinnamon, ground; Salt to taste; 1 qt. molasses

Method

Cook all together 2 hours and seal in glass cans.

Mince pies should always be baked with two crusts. Usually made between Thanksgiving and New Year.
