  • 1 cup black poppy seed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons molasses or syrup
  • ½ cup chopped almonds
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla or lemon rind
  • 1 tablespoon chopped citron
  • ¼ cup seedless raisins
  • Sugar to taste
  • 1 cup milk


Grind poppy seed and boil with milk and other ingredients until thick. If not sweet enough, add sugar. When cool add vanilla. The raisins, nuts and citron may be omitted. Use mixture of Kuchen Roll, Pie or Turnovers.
