  • 1 cup ground poppy seed
  • 6 eggs
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 6 bitter almonds, pounded
  • 1 lemon rind grated
  • ¼ cup almonds, blanched and pounded


Separate eggs, mix ingredients in order given, beaten whites of eggs last; use for Kipfel, Turnovers, Pie or Kuchen, in place of fruit or preserves.
