  • cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • teaspoon vanilla


Put butter in sauce pan; when melted, add sugar and milk Stir until dissolved. Heat gradually to boiling point without stirring, thirteen minutes, or until it forms a soft ball in cold water. Remove from fire, stir until it thickens to spread. Add vanilla.
