  • cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • ¾ cup milk
  • Yolks of 12 eggs
  • Rind and juice ½ lemon
  • cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder


Stir butter and sugar well, then add eggs, one at a time, stirring a half hour, add lemon and lastly milk and flour, alternately. Bake one hour in a moderate oven.
