  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten


Stir butter and sugar to a cream, add yolks, then gradually add milk, the hot water, stirred into the grated chocolate, flour and baking powder mixed and the almonds and lastly the beaten whites of the eggs.

Bake in two layers, in a moderate oven, with Chocolate Nut Filling, or Sour Cream Filling, No. 2.
