Ingredients

  • Yolks of 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar (scant)
  • cup hot milk or water
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
  • Whites of 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Method

Beat yolks until thick and lemon colored, add half the sugar gradually and beat; add milk, remaining sugar lemon, whites of eggs beaten stiff and flour mixed sifted with baking powder and salt. Bake 35 minutes in a moderate oven.
