  • About

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla or any other flavor
  • 2 cups flour (about)

Cream the butter and sugar. Beat the eggs and add to the milk. Sift flour and mix baking powder with one cup, then add the rest of the flour, and gradually add more if needed to make a dough stiff enough to handle. Place in ice chest to harden. Roll on floured board one-fourth inch thick. Shape with biscuit cutter. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and chopped nuts, if desired. Bake in a quick oven 8 to 10 minutes.
