Ingredients

  • cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1⅞ cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • cups milk

Method

Cream the butter, add sugar, then eggs, well beaten. Mix dry ingredients and combine the two mixtures with the milk. Spread out thin on buttered pan. Bake 15 minutes in moderate oven. Sprinkle with sugar and cut into squares or diamonds, before removing from pan.
