  • 6 drops oil of peppermint or wintergreen
  • cups sugar
  • cup boiling water


Put sugar and water in granite saucepan and stir until sugar is dissolved. Boil until it threads or forms a soft ball in cold water. Remove from stove, add peppermint, beat until it thickens and looks cloudy. Drop from tip of spoon on slightly buttered paper.
