  • 6 or 8 tart apples
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar


Quarter, core and pare the apples. Make a syrup of the sugar and water. When boiling, add the apples and cook a few at a time until tender, but not broken. Remove carefully. Boil down the syrup and pour over the apples.
