Stewed Prunes

  • ½ lb. prunes
  • 1 quart water
  • ¼ cup


Wash the prunes, and then soak them in cold water over night. Cook slowly in the water in which they were soaked until soft. Add one-fourth cup sugar to every two cups of prunes and cook five minutes longer. Season with lemon juice or cinnamon if desired.
