  • 5 lbs. cherries or raspberries
  • 5 lbs. sugar


Wash berries carefully that they do not mash; or wash, pick over and stone the cherries. Place in preserving kettle, alternate layers of sugar and fruit; let stand over night. Bring slowly the boiling point and boil slowly until thick. Put away in glasses or jars.
