Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beets or 1 qt. radishes
  • 1 qt strained honey

Method

Cut radishes (black), in thin slices ¼ by 1 inch. Cook in boiling water 3 or 4 minutes. Drain and dry between towels.

If beets are used cook them and then cut same as the radishes.

To 1 cup of the vegetables take 1 cup honey and cook until the mixture is thick enough to drop heavy from the spoon. Add a little ginger to the beets.

Serve cold mixed with almonds cut in thin slices. Put away in glasses or jars.
