Ingredients

  • ½ pk. Seckel pears
  • ½ lb. pecans
  • ½ lb. shelled almonds
  • Sugar
  • Water

Method

Pare, quarter and remove core of pears. For each pound of fruit allow 1 pound of sugar, 1 cup water; add water to sugar, let boil well, add the pears and boil 1 hour slowly or until clear, then add the nuts and boil 20 minutes longer. Place in jars or cans; cover well.

Hard winter pears may be used instead of the Seckel pears.
