  • 6 qts. cherries, pitted
  • lbs. white sugar
  • 1 pt. cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ tablespoon ground allspice
  • ½ tablespoon ground cloves
  • ½ nutmeg, grated


Mix sugar, vinegar and spices, until dissolved and pour over the cherries. Stir well for three mornings and then can or bottle and seal.
