Ingredients

  • 1 qt. cherries, stemmed
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 qt. or 2 pt. cans, air-tight

Method

Select the large, dark sweet cherries; wash, stem and stone with new steel hairpin, in colander over preserving kettle to save juice. Boil sugar and water to a syrup 10 minutes, add the cherries and boil 5 minutes. Put in hot sterilized jars and seal.
