Ingredients

  • 2 qts. tiny cucumbers
  • 2 qts. large cucumbers cut in ¼ inch slices
  • 2 qts. small white onions
  • 1 qt. string beans, cut
  • 2 large cauliflowers, flowerettes, separate
  • 3 small red peppers, and
  • 1 large green pepper sliced
  • 1 pt. nasturium seeds
  • 1 pt. radish pods
  • cups salt to 2 qts. water
  • ½ cup horseradish root, diced
  • ¼ lb. yellow mustard seed
  • ¼ lb. black mustard seed
  • gallons cider vinegar
  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper, ground
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, ground
  • 1 oz. tumeric

Method

Mix first 9 ingredients, pour over salt water, let stand 24 hours, drain; add next three quantities. Boil the rest and pour over pickles, let stand 2 days. Pour into jars and seal.
