  • About

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • Boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons powdered flour
  • 2 tablespoons cold milk or water
  • 1 cup boiling milk
  • A little salt

Tie 2 cups flour in a stout cloth, put into boiling water and let boil 5 hours. Turn out the flour ball, scrape off the doughy part. The inside is hard and dry and will grate to powder.

Grate a tablespoonful from the ball when wanted. Wet it with 1 tablespoon milk or water. Stir, add another tablespoonful and rub to a smooth paste, add it to the boiling milk, boil 5 minutes. Add a little salt. For infants, very astringent.
