Ingredients

  • ½ cup coarse oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • Milk

Method

Add the oatmeal and salt to the boiling water, and cook 3 hours in a double boiler. Strain and dilute with milk or cream. If rolled oats is used, cook 1 hour.
