Indian gooseberries (amla) are a powerhouse of nutrients. Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant which protects the body from free radicals – it’s essential to the body’s overall wellbeing.
In addition, amla is very versatile: it can be eaten raw, added to pickles and jams or juiced, as I have done in this refreshing and tangy drink. Drinking diluted amla juice (particularly on an empty stomach) aids digestion and is the ideal morning juice to start the day.
