Pizza sauce contains all the same ingredients as a regular pasta or marinara sauce, with a bit of extra oregano to give it that distinct flavor. Pasta sauces are simmered on the cooktop while pizza sauces are used raw.
Cut tomatoes in half and squeeze to remove all of the seeds and liquid. Coarsely chop and transfer to a food processor. Add tomato paste, oil, Italian seasoning, oregano, salt, sugar, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Pulse several times until finely chopped.
