Sweet and tangy buttermilk makes the ideal base for a salad dressing with fresh herbs. Large, ripe heirloom tomatoes have an intoxicating aroma, with a balance of sugar and acids that doesn’t need much else to make a wonderful summer meal.
To make dressing, combine buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, herbs, salt, pepper, and garlic in a bowl, whisking until smooth. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Serve dressing over sliced tomatoes.
