These savory bundles or packets of fish and meat may take the place of kcdua pig at a Hawaiian feast or poi supper. Laulaus have the same concept as the Samoan or Fijian pcilusami although they contain no coconut milk. In Hawai’i, they are wrapped first in young taro leaves and then in ti leaves.
