Poulet Avec des Limettes

Moorea works its magic from the first encounter. Mine was from the deck of the Tahiti-Moorea ferry. I wrote in my journal:

The wide lagoon was milky turquoise. The sun turned the nearest mountainsides the brilliant light green of young lettuce. Where the clouds sat over the peaks, they cast dark green shadows. A ruffle of palms fringed the lagoon and the coast road. Except for a few dockside buildings, little habitation was visible. Rickety buses and trucks were lined up at the jett
